We measure cogging torque characteristics of the motor by rotating it by 360° in a non-excitation state while measuring torque and rotation angle.
We measure torque ripple characteristics of the motor by rotating it by 360° in an excitation state while measuring torque and rotation angle.
For high-quality motors designed to operate quietly with low vibration, cogging torque and torque ripples must be reduced to very low levels to minimize vibrations.
In our system, the test motor shaft is coupled to the tester shaft that rotates at 1 r/min. The torque generated as the motor shaft is rotated by 360° is measured at a resolution of 0.1°. We have a considerable experience and expertise to manufacture couplings and fixtures to accommodate various motor shapes and characteristics.
Our system also measures detent torque or holding torque for stepping motors.
The ATM series are specially designed for measuring cogging torque and torque ripple of small/miniature motors. They incorporate exclusive high-sensitivity torque and angle sensors capable of measurements at a resolution of 0.1°. The system also measures detent torque or holding torque of stepping motors.
We offer seven models, ranging from the ATM-R5MN with a torque rating of 0.5 mN･m to the ATM-100MN with a torque rating of 100 mN･m. This series uses the PC-MCT6-09 Motor Analyzer. A dedicated software comes with it.

Calibration Jig Set (Option)
The ATM/ATV series has a vertical shaft, so the Calibration Jig Set converts the vertical force of the weight into a horizontal force when calibration.
